Amber visited!

I know, I know, I know -- I have done a horrible job at updating my blog. And I am sorry for that.

But on a more positive note--Amber visited this past weekend!  It was so great to see her and spend time with her! She officially got to see the place I call home for most of the year and all of my friends here too :)

It was also Madison's 20th birthday on Saturday so we partied by going to Chick-Fil-A and a movie!

(*another fail: we literally took one picture with Amber and that was at the airport when we were dropping her off to go back to Minnesota and that picture is on Madison's phone...so we are going pictureless for this post)

Why I hate February

Okay, so I don't actually hate February. But it is probably my least favorite month. And no, it is not because I am single and Valentine's Day is in February. I happen to actually enjoy Valentine's Day even when I'm single because I get chocolate ;)

February is the awkward not-yet-spring-but-I'm-sick-of-winter month. It's cold and snowy (for MN anyways) and by that time mostly everyone is sick of winter. The first couple of times it snows, it's fun and exciting. By February, it's just really annoying and inconvenient and many people, including myself, just want spring.

So that's how I feel right now. I just want spring. Soon!

My obsession with whales

I recently finished reading Moby-Dick for my American Literature class and I actually enjoyed it.  If you can get used to the fact that over half of the 600 page novel is not the plot-line, then you would enjoy it too! As I was reading it, my obsession with whales began. I've always loved the ocean and it's mysterious creatures, specifically sharks, and now I love whales too. I  need to go whale-watching someday :)

Pleasant afternoons

I love Sunday afternoons because they are so peaceful and relaxing. All I did today was sit in my room with my roommate, drinking coffee and reading for class. I'm sad Sundays have to end, but I am so glad God created a day specifically for rest :)

Modeling

I got to be a model today :) My friend Sarah is in a creative photography course here on campus and she needed to take portraits of people. She is so amazing and I love how the pictures turned out!

I got my first rejection letter today for an essay I submitted to an online journal. The first one of hundreds I will probably get in my lifetime. Hooray for being a hopeful writer!

oh ohio

Yesterday, my roommate and I had our space heater on in our room. Today, we had our window open all day. Ohio never ceases to amaze me.
